Analyze
the Data
1.)
Students analyze the water samples using microscopes,
reference books, and the Internet to identify the macro and
microorganisms.
2.)
Students then make wet slides, sketches, and digital
pictures of the organisms they found.
Example:
Click on the Image to the right to enlarge the sketch and hear what one
student from New Jersey has to say about this Mayfly Nymph.
ADVANCED ACTIVITIES:
Click to read how some classes conducted more sophisticated
tests such as measuring Dissolved O2, pH,
Phosphates, etc. on their water samples.
3.)
Once students analyze and identify their results, they then
share their findings and compare them with other
classes.
