Woodlands Elementary School’s environment is grassy, green, warm, and sometimes damp. It also has a retention pond in the front of the school; it has lots of bugs, some weeds, and some trees down because of 3 hurricanes we just had. The school that I picked Wilson K-8 has some insects and lizards. They also had some trees weeds and flowers. They found some non-living thing to such as sand, metal, thorns, and brush. I think found these things because they live in dry weather and have a lot of sun.
The similarities between our square and There Square are that they found sand, some rocks, weeds, and some trees. We also had some differences. We had a bike reflector, soccer balls, Skittles wrapper, acorns, and some yellow jackets. They had some metal and thorns.
The reason why I think we differences is because we live in warm humid weather we also live near some lakes. The reason Arizona has differences is that they live near desert so its hot and dry.
I learned if you that if you live
some place dry and hot you would find lots of sand, rocks, brush, and trees, but
the trees that they have can live in weather that’s very dry.

Woodlands Elementary School usually has a warm and sometimes damp climate. It also has lots of grass and trees. I found lots things in my square such as trees, berries, dirt, and anthills.
I chose Warradale Primary School because we had a lot in common and it will be cool because it’s in Australia. I think our schools would be different because they’re on the other side of the world and it would be hot over there.
Our schools have similarities and differences. Our similarities include sand, dirt, trees, grass, beetles, ants, and more. Our differences are berries, ticks, and things like that.
I think that there were some differences because of the climates. There, it’s usually hot, here, it’s cooler. So maybe that’s why they don’t have berries.
This project was interesting because I got to learn about a school in Australia. I also learned that we weren’t the only ones doing this. I thought we were the only class doing this project.

Woodlands Elementary School is a big grassy area where bugs, trees, bushes, gopher tortoises, anthills, and bird’s nests lay. Our school has a big retention pond, which helps us with all the hurricanes we have during the summer. The square that I have, had a gopher tortoise in it, which perfectly matches my Year Long Research Project animal.
I chose Nicholas A. Ferri Middle School to make my comparison. They’re environment is grassy, sandy, misty, and has dirt. The misty weather might have affected their square.
In my square and in they’re square we had many things in common. Both of the squares had grass, ants flying bugs, worms, weed, wild flowers, leaves, dirt, sand, and small rocks. In their square there was a fungus, but that was not found in my square. Another thing that affected their square was paper, which is also litter.
In both of the squares we had many things in common, like grass, ants, dirt, and sand. We had that and many more things in common because if the climate.
I learned that Nicholas A. Ferri Middle School had many things that were different than my square, but that made no difference. I learned many things that can live in a small square. This project has been a blast!!!

Woodlands Elementary is an Environment with downed trees, recess equipment, burnt leaves, mulch, spiderwebs, big fields, dirt, and mosquitoes.
I chose Wilson k-8 Tucson AR Because I thought it might be interesting. What’s Cool is that half of the stuff that was in their square was in my square too.
My square had a tree inside of it. Their square had a hole inside of it.
I think the reason for differences are vegetation and climate.
Now it’s time for me to say good-bye. Just to let you know I really enjoyed this project.

Woodlands Elementary School has many many things so I will just name some of them. There is dirt, grass, sand, trees, and some broken trees from the past hurricanes anyway there are also bricks ,gopher tortoise, snakes, bugs ,lizards, ant hill, and that one thing that is bad for the environment parking lots we have a lot of them.
In my square, what I found was an anthill, ants, clover, pine needles, grass, dirt, leaves, weed with flowers, love bugs, and a bike reflector.
I chose Edgewood Elementary School and the teachers name is Fulton Williams in Homewood Alabama. I chose it because I thought that it might interest. What they had in their square is for the animals an earthworm, a bumble bee, ants,a dead snails shell, tiny red ants, a black spider with yellow spots, a small slimy black slug, and a sign of a squirrel. They also found some plants so I will name them they found a bind weed, a poke weed with eaten up leaves, mondo, grass, ferns, a pine oak sapling, type of magnolia tree, a shrub with huge fuzzy leaves, an outstanding veins on a bottom of the leaf, and some assorted weeds. They also found some stuff like a small rock and a fly taffy wrapper.
Now I will tell you about the two different squares and compare them. Well to start off here at our school we had an oak tree and they had a pine oak sapling then they had just normal moss and we had Spanish moss and normal moss and one more thing we had a skittle and the had a taffy wrapper.
Here I will tell you about why there are differences similarities. One is that up there it is cold so all the birds and bugs will move south so there wouldn’t be all lot of bugs there. Another thing is that there is allot of junk in Alabama and not allot here because they must like to eat and litter to as to here we don’t. The last and final thing about the environment is that they have a lot of plants and we have some that is because they like to plant a lot of them.
Now I will tell you about what I learned. I learned that a lot of people in Alabama like to eat and they like to litter plus the fact that it is now going to be winter for them there so the leaves are dead so they have already fallen. As you can see those are the similarities and differences.

Woodlands Elementary school is a very grassy school. We also have many trees and sand in our courtyard and in our gym and recess places. But what gets me mad is all the bricks, concrete, and parking spaces. If we didn’t have so many of these things we would have more life.
I chose the International School of Florence to make my comparison against. International of Florence is located in the city of Florence the state of Tuscany Italy. The reason I chose Florence is because it’s very different. Also it’s in a different country. There are many same and different qualities between the U.S and Italy. We both have ants, dirt, small rocks, fungus, grass, lizard, and flying bugs. But Florence has olive Trees, Lizard, spider, beetle, snail, and big rock. You can see all the similarities and differences between us.
The many possible reasons for similarities and differences could be climate, vegetation, and geography. But personally I think it’s because of the equator. The equator divides the earth and changes climate. But there could be other reasons.
I learned about our habitat and Florence’s a little more. Also it sounds very interesting there. But I would like to learn more about it.

Our school is named Woodlands Elementary. It’s a beautiful school with
great teachers. Here at Woodlands Elementary there are big trees and small
trees, but some got blown over by Hurricanes Charley, Francis, and Jeanne. We
also have pretty flowers and lots of grass. Sometimes we see tortoises and
squirrels because they use our trees and sand to live in. At the front of the
school we have a retention pond. Outside doing the Square of Life I saw a
mulberry bush, long and short grass, leaves, sticks, Spanish Moss, rocks, oak
trees, a stick sticking out of the ground, clovers, acorns, daisies, fungi, deer
berries, saw palmetto, dirt, and a bee’s nest. It was cool. I chose American
National School of Zagreb as a school to compare. The climate in Croatia is
cold in the winters and hot in the summers. I thinks it’s think it’s like that
because it has bugs, worms, trees, and grass. It sounds like a beautiful
place. Maybe I’d like to live there. It’s also probably warm in the spring and
in the fall. I wish I went there and stayed a year.
In American International School of Zagreb, the stuff that is the same
about our squares is grass, weeds, and dirt. Also there is ants and flying
bugs. The stuff that was different is that there are small and big rocks and
trees. There also are beetles, worms, and spiders. They even saw plastic!
That’s what was compared and contrasted.
Croatia is near the border of the Mediterranean Sea. It’s next to Italy. I
discovered Croatia’s vegetation is grape vines and olive trees. The climate
there is usually warm. Also Croatia is near Yugoslavia.
I learned a lot about Croatia. I learned they have warm weather, they’re
in a different country, and they even have a lot in common with Florida. When I
looked at Croatia I thought it would be different, but I guess I was wrong.
That’s what I compared.

Woodlands School has a great environment. Here are some things that are
in the environment at school. Woodlands have big trees, little trees, skinny
trees and more. Woodlands has a lot of grass too. There is a lot of dirt in the
fields. Outside there is so much space for parking. There are about four
different places around the school. Near the P.E pavilion there is a gopher
tortoise burrow. Woodlands also have great equipment. That is some of the things
in the school’s environment. Some of the things I had in my square were Spanish
moss, some peat moss, a branch that stuck out of the ground, a lot of clovers,
some acorns, about three mulberry bushes, on the bushes there were some deer
berries, tree called a saw palmetto, about twenty daises, dirt, insects, and
grass.
The school that I used to compare to my square of life was the International
School of Florence. This school is in Italy. Italy has long hot summers, and
mild winters. In the schoolyard there is a vineyard where they grow grapes for
wine. They can see a lot of lizards and squirrels. They also have two soccer
fields in their schoolyard.
I compared my square to Italy’s square to see what was different and what was
the same. I will start with what is different. What is different is that Italy
has lizards that run around in the vineyards. They have spiders in their square.
They also have snails. They have beetles. They had an olive tree! That is what’s
different from their square and my square. What is the same is that we booth
have grass. We have dirt and they do too. We both had fungus on some plants and
trees. We both had small rocks in our square. Italy has ants and we do too. We
have flying bugs and so does Italy. That is what is the same and what is
different in my square and in their square.
One reason Italy may have the same stuff that we have is because they have the
same climate. Italy is near the Mediterranean Sea. Italy has vineyards.
I learned that Italy had lizards in their vineyards. I also learned that
Italy has hot summers and mild winters like we do. Italy has a lot of the same
stuff we do!!

My school is Woodlands Elementary School. It is filled with trees, has four
parking lots, has a retention pond, has grassy areas, and has dirt, gopher
tortoise holes, squirrels, and more. Now, in my square, I found snails, ants, an
uprooted tree, a beetle, grass, and small rocks. There was a root hole there
too.
I chose International School of Florence to make my comparison. The
International School of Florence is located in Tuscany, Italy. It was just dirt,
had webs, lizards, mushrooms, big rocks, and a spider, and the big rocks were
made from the volcanoes. There are also mushrooms, because, there is damp clay
soil in the square.
In my square and their square, what was similar was that we both found grass,
and small rocks. Of course, ants, snails and a tree. Both squares also found
beetles. Now what was different was, they found lizards, mush rooms, big rocks,
and a spider. The different thing what I found from the other square was love
bugs and bees. They also have moss, with a strong smell of grass. We had an
uprooted maple
tree.
Italy is located in Middle-Eastern Europe. Florida is located in the way
South-Eastern United States. Grass and Mushrooms and Bamboo come quickly in
Italy because; there is water under the soil. Sometimes trees are uprooted
because of hurricanes in Florida, so Florida is a tropical state. So that
explains the tropic, damp climate, and geography of Italy and
Florida.
I didn’t know that there was Bamboo in Italy, but now I know because, there are damp places. Mushrooms grow there too. After I wrote this, I hope I know all about nature now!!!!

My school is Woodlands Elementary it is big, nice environment, grassy lands, sandy lands, healthy trees. Also, our school is huge and we have about 975 students in our school and it’s really clean. We also have a DRUG FREE school! What I found in my square was grass, weeds, flowers, dirt, clovers, leaves, moss, pine needles, ants, love bugs, flies, spiders, and a bike reflector.
Settlers Farm Campus, is the school I chose. The teachers name is Jenny Fowler and the school is in Australia. In this school they found flying bugs, ants, sticks, leaves, dirt, and grass. the hot weather might have affected their square.
The things that was uncommon were ants, flying bugs, grass, dirt, dead leaves, butterfly, sticks ,leaves. The things that were different was a tree ,butterfly wing ,bark, gum nut, bees, spider web, anthill, spider, and a bike reflector. Australia has koala bears and kangaroos we don’t have them in Florida. In Florida we have Key Deer and black bears.
In Florida it’s nice and moist. Australia has hot and dry weather. Their school is in the southern hemisphere in Australia and it’s surrounded by water. We have 3 sides covered from water.
I learned that I didn’t know that we had that much life in our school. It was interesting that in my square we found a bike reflector. It was cool finding what I found in my square!

The name of my school is Woodlands Elementary. These are some things that
might describe it. We have a lot of trees, our land is grassy and sandy, and we
have big fields, warm weather, retention pound, animals, and a nice environment.
In my square I found a gopher tortoise hole, a sign, flowers, roots, a worm,
flies, beetles, ants, gravel, weeds, half sandy and half grassy.
The name of the school I’m comparing to is Nicholas .A. Ferri Middle School.
Their environment is grassy, misty, sandy, and has dirt. The misty weather might
have effected what was found in the square.
In my square I found a lot of stuff that they did. Both of are squares
have grass, sand, flying bugs, flowers, weeds, worms, and ants. In their square
they found fungi. They also found mud in their square.
I think the possibility for similarity is that the climate is sort of the
same. And Rhode Island is part of the United States. The possibility for
different could be that they could have had a tree next to there squares.
Someone might have been dropping paper. That might make it different.
It was very interesting that they had a lot of stuff the same. I knew that
there would be grass and sand in there square. I didn’t think there would be
mushrooms. I also didn’t think there would be spiders and spider webs. I’ve
learned a lot of stuff from this project.

My school, Woodlands Elementary, has a lot of grass areas, trees, and many different kinds of plants. There are also big fields, a ton of parking spaces, and a lot of different buildings. Our school is also very clean. In my square I found a bike reflector, dirt, ants, clovers, and grass. There were also some spiders, flies, weeds, and a lot of sand from the anthill.
The school I am comparing to is Noar Lunga Downs Primary School. The state is South Australia and the county is Australia.Noar Lunga Downs is the city. What could have caused what was there to be there is that Australia is a more natural place. It is more rural and has less buildings.
In their square is a tree, mud, small rocks, and spider eggs. They also found a pigeon’s feather, a broken birds nest, a broken bids egg, and a lizard.
I already told you what was in their square, but what is in my square were ants, flies, a spider, grass, weeds, dirt, and plastic. Australia has a few climates and is more natural, so they had more natural objects in their square.
I learned that you could find many different objects in a square if you look closely at it. I found out that more natural things are in more natural places. What was interesting was that we found a lot of different things in our square. This really was a fun project!

Woodlands Elementary has a lot of kids doing fun project like the Square of
Life. If you were to see Woodlands you would think of it as a school that has a
lot of grass , tall trees and dirt .In my square I found ants, fungus, weeds,
and dirt.
The school I choose is Legends Spring Elementary because I think it is
amazing that a school all the way on the West Coast can have the same could have
so many similarities to are school. Some of the similarities are fungus, weeds,
beetles, and small rocks. I think that to help there environment is to stop
littering. We have a lot of the same and different things too. The same things
we had were fungus, beetles, small rocks, bees, and ants. The different things
are a tree and litter.
They have the same things because we both have a hot climate and that is why we
both have a lot of bugs. I learned that Arizona can have mud, that they have a
lot of litter, and that Arizona has a lot of bugs like Florida.

Our school has a lot of grass and
dirt and it can get pretty hot in the summer time. Our school’s name is
Woodlands..Our School is made out of bricks. We have a lot of windows. We have
some animals like a Gopher Tortoise and Turtles. We have a lot of dirt and we
have to many parking spots. We in our school have a lot of care for our animals.
Our school has two playgrounds. One playground is for pre k the other is for
kindergarten through Fifth grade. I found grass, dirt, bugs, small rocks, ants,
snails and flying
bugs.
I chose International school of Florence in Italy. I think it might be very cold
and I think it might snow. It might be way to warm. I also chose it because it
is in a different country. And it is really cool because it is located in the
city of Florence and because There are many same and different qualities like we
both have ants but they have olive trees. In their squares they had bugs, ants,
trees, snails and small rocks. Here are some things that are different. They
have big rocks, olive trees, lizards, spiders, beetles and they live some where
else. I was interested in how old they were. I really liked doing this project.
I love Italy because I love their accent know a lot about Italy now. I found out
that Italy has olive trees.

Our school is called Woodlands
Elementary. I am going to describe my school. It is big, nice, and friendly. Our
square has tree, ferns, spiders, eggs, leaves, dirt, and ants.
American international school of Zagreb has a lot of the same things we found in
our squares. A few things they found would be found in a garden such as tomato,
bean vines, and a pumpkin. So it seems that someone had a garden there once.
We found a lot of the same bugs and plants, but they found a lot more garbage
then we did. That means we keep are school cleaner. We didn’t notice any great
difference in the plants we found and they found.
They found rocks and we didn’t because Florida has sandy soil. It seem they have
mountains were they live, which tells me how they found a big rock in there
square.
I have learned that there is a lot of trash in their square. I have found out
they have mountains in the area they live in. there isn’t any great difference
in the item.

Our school is named Woodlands Elementary School and our school is very big and nice. The things that I am going to write are in our school. Trees, Sand, rocks, flowers, grass, molach, andGopher Tortoises. Now I am going to tell what contains in my square ants, Beettles, Flying Bugs, snails, grass, uprooted tree, dirt, and small sticks.
The school I am comparing with is called International School Of Florence in Tuscany, Italy.TheEnvironment of this school is damp with a lot of animals.
Now I am going to compare the squares. I think that are square’s environments Are very different but we have lots of the same things. I think that are square has a very dry area and there square is very damp.
I think the reason Why there square has mushrooms, Spiders, lizards, and a big rock is because they are probly are in a shady Area and they get a lot of rain. I also think why they have mushrooms, that in Italy they have a lot of water
Going though.
I also learned that places that are far away could still have a lot of the same things. I also learned people all around the world are doing this. I think this was fun to do and it helps you learn what they have in different countries

Woodlands Elementary School has a lot of buildings. We have lots of trees and squirrels and bugs that live in them. We have a large parking lot that effects the environment. In our square we found bugs, ferns, moss, acorns, a tree, dead leaves, and dirt.
The school I chose is Wheelok School. It is located in Keene, New Hampshire. The teacher is Christy Archer They found garter snake skin, a small red spider, a worm, a maple tree, bugs, sand, dirt, rocks, trash, buttercup wild flowers, mushrooms, burning bushes, and a lilac bush.
Both of the schools had ants, beetles, acorns, trash, dirt, sand, and rocks. My square had ferns, leaves, moss, a spider egg, a spider, and a fly. At their school they found garter snake skin, a worm, a maple tree, a black bush, buttercup wild flowers, mushrooms, a lilac bush, and a burning bush.
I think there were similarities because there is a similar climate. I think there were differences because they might have built their school on a different area than ours.
In conclusion this was a very interesting project. I learned a lot about different environments. I also found out about some plants I didn’t even know existed.

The name of my school is Woodlands Elementary, and a
retention pond. My school also has several buildings, squirrel, gopher
tortoises, playground equipment, and my school is made of bricks. I found a
tree, ants, dirt, a fly, and a lawn beetle in my
square.
I chose Warradale Primary School is located in South Australia. They found
mulch, dirt a spider, a ladybug, and rocks in there square of life. I think that
they found those things in their square because they live in a more natural
place.
T
They found a ladybug, rocks, stinkbug, moth, and, a spider and other things, but
I didn’t find any of those. But I did find a pine tree, pinecone, pine needles,
and a leaf, but Warradale Primary School didn’t find any of those.
Australia is 34 south & Florida is 28 north of the equator. I discovered
that Australia is sometimes cooler than Florida. I also discovered that
Warradale Primary has to wear uniforms to school. And I really liked this
project.

Woodlands Elementary School has lots of grassy areas with weeds and dirt. We have a retention pond and many creepy crawlies. There are a lot of parking spaces and trees. We have big fields to run around in and for other activities in PE (Physical Education). There’s nice, big, playground equipment to play on for recess. In my square there was weeds, grass, dirt, and little flowers. I found roots (sticking out of the ground). There was a gopher tortoise hole that goes great with our Year Long Research Project. There were little tiny flies, a baby green worm, ants and a beetle. There was also dirt, a sign, brown leaves, and a little piece of gravel (probably from the road because there was a parking place near my square).
Queensbury Elementary School, which is in New York, had found ants, flying bugs (bee and an earwig), a beetle, and a spider. They found trees, weeds, flowers (marigold and other flowers), and pine needles. There were rocks, mulch, and a feather in their square. They also found a plastic bag, paper, dirt, and gum. In their square they found mud, sticks, plastic, grass, and flowering berry plants.
In both of our squares there were ants,
flying bugs, weeds grass, dirt, and rocks. What’s different is that they found
a spider, a bush, and a tree. They also found mulch, a feather, paper, plastic
and gum. What I found in my square that they didn’t find in their square was a
gopher tortoise (hole), baby, green worm, little flowers, and roots (sticking
out of the ground), and brown leaves. Another one was a sign. Possible reasons
for differences are that in the winter it’s very cold and snows.
I found out that there were a lot of stuff in my square, other people in our
classes square, and everyone in Queensbury Elementary Schools square was much
more different then I thought it would be like. I learnt a lot about my school
environment and the people in Queensbury Elementary Schools environment. This
project was really cool.

At Woodlands Elementary School my square has lots of things. My square has a 13 foot pine tree. Lots of branches with pine needles on it. A lot of bark was coming off of it. At the bottom of the tree are dead leaves, lots of twigs, sticks and a little bit of grass. I go to school at Woodlands Elementary. I live in the state of Florida in the town of Longwood in North America. I think that this is a great place to live.
Our squares are as much as the same as they are different. My square has a tree in it and so does yours. My square as sand and yours does too. My square has bugs like ants and flies. A dead fly to be exact. There’s a lot of things different too. My square doesn’t have spiders andlady bugs. It also doesn’t have, dirt, rocks or mud. It doesn’t have metal, a bush and weeds. That’s what my square doesn’t have.I did not know that you could have brush, weeds, rocks, mud, dirt, and metal
And a tree in one square. It sounds like a big mud pie. All the stuff that We found was nothing compared to yours.
This was a fun project with marking the
Square and drawing it. I have never this before and I enjoyed it.

I chose Legend Springs Elm. It is located in Glendale
Arizona. They had plastic in their square and dirt, grass bugs, and beetles.
They had something we didn’t have, spiders. We had lots of the same things and
we had lots of different things. We had flying bugs they did to .We also had
beetles, fungus, grass, small rocks, and they did too. They had plastic, papers,
candy wrappers. They need to work on littering. The reason why we had different
things then them is because we have a tropical climate. Some people don’t care
how clean their environment is in Arizona.
I did not know that there were bees there. After observing I found beehives
there. I learned a lot during this, especially about nature. I am glad that we
get the opportunity to learn in this way. In this study, I learned lots of
things. One of them is to have a clean environment think I am so lucky to have a
dividend to watch us and have that person take there time to help us.

Woodlands Elementary school’s environment has trees, ferns, dirt, grass, and bushes. I found in my square a tree, ferns, a spider egg, acorns, some grass, ants, and a lot of weeds. I also found flies, sticks, a cocoon or an egg, a baby fern, and a vine.
I picked Wheelock school to compare to Woodlands. I saw in my square ants, beetles, acorns, leaves, an oak tree, sand, dirt, mud, litter, and rocks. They found a gardener snake, small red spider, a worm, maple trees, buttercup wild flowers, black bushes, and burning bushes.
What I found in my square had 11 things that where the same. They found eight things that are different in their square. Their environment must have been bushy. My square’s environment was foresty like. Their similarities must have been the same because they have trees and grassy fields. Their similarities must have been the same, too because they have snakes and bugs. Their similarities might have been the same because their environment has the stuff in my square.

My school Woodlands Elementary is a big place. It has many places like the
playground for recess, the lunchroom, and the P.E. pavilion. It even has a
computer lab! You might have a school as good as mine, witch is a good thing.
This school has grass wide-open fields (2). It’s a great school. You probably
have a good school, too. The school
I chose was Wilson K-8. I chose that school because the name sounds familiar. It
has some pretty interesting stuff. They have very wide-open areas with lots of
dirt. It had a lot of bugs.
His square had about as much as me. But the things in the square, they were different. For example. Mine had grass and his had dirt. Mine had bugs and his had earthworms. They are the same but, yet they are different.
Sure, our squares are different. But, they are also very alike. Some of our similarities may be because of the climate. There are many earthworms in Florida. They just weren’t in the square. The different places are very alike.
In conclusion, it was really fun to do this project. I hope I can do it again.
