Roosevelt Middle School, West Orange, New Jersey

Our class compared our findings with Central School in East Brunswick, New Jersey.  Things that we found in our square that were the same were trees, ants, rocks, weeds, grass, dirt, spiders, flying bugs, plastic, and worms. Even though we both live in the same state, we found many different items in our squares.

 Animals:  We found a ladybug and a butterfly, while they found mosquitoes, snails and roly-poly bugs.

 Plants:  We found flowers, buds, clovers, seeds, and roots while they found mushrooms and fungus.

 Non-Living Objects: We found a pen, sticks, leaves, some foil, an anthill, a spider web, a gum wrapper, and a Christmas light bulb while they found a soda can and sand.
