Napier Rod Simulation
John
Napier invented a way to do multiplication using a set of rods (or
bones as he called them.) It was similar to the lattice method of
mulitiplying. See http://www.cee.hw.ac.uk/%7Egreg/calculators/napier/about.html to find out more about them.
You will learn how to use them by watching and explaining a simulation of how you can multiply 273 x 5 with them.
See

Explain how 273 x 5 was calculated using the bones.
How is this similar to lattice multiplication? See for help.
