• September 30, 1998 - The Internet Isn't a Threat to Students...It's a Tool for Teachers Eduation Week Commentary by Edward A. Friedman and Beth McGrath, Center for Improved Engineering and Science Education.

• September 22, 1998 - TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGE GRANTS FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARDED TO 20 PARTNERSHIPS, including the Alliance Project Partners

• May 29th, 1998 - Alliance project partners team up with state SEAs and submit grant proposal to U.S. Department of Education for a Technology Innovation Challenge Grant.  Polaris Career Center, located in Cleveland, Ohio, will act as the project's LEA.
